We are in Naples, leaving the Molo Beverello for Capri. This is the harbor as the ferry pulls away from the dock.

Leaving Naples for Capri
Upon arriving in Capri, we immediately took the funicular up from the harbor to the main Piazza of Capri town. This is the view.
In Capri, a walk along the town gives views like this at sundown.
Capri had many stray cats, most of which were pretty friendly--at least the ones we met. And a hotel.
The Hotel Canasta was modest and comfortable. The pool offered a wonderful view of the sea.
In this church in Anacapri, the floor is made of decorated tile (majolique). Jan poses. The floor had been walked on a bit too much, so a wood walkway had been placed around the floor.
Here is our team (minus me, of course), in Anacapri. Jan, Eileen, Craig, Dan, Alice, and John.
From above, the floor of the church was even more spectacular with the story of the Garden of Eden.
An ancient clock peeks out from behind a decorated church in Anacapri.
On a chairlift from Anacapri to the top of Mt. Solano, Jan peeks back. Yes, she's in seat 117.
The view from the chairlift heading up the mountain from Anacapri is a mix of docile domesticity and the rugged rocky cliffs into the ocean.

From the highest point on Capri, looking down on the Faraglioni. No wonder people love this place. If there weren't so many tourists...
Off in the distance is the Sorrento peninsula.
Jan, in Anacapri, with Sorrento and the Amalfi coast in the background.
Jan and I enjoying the view from the top of Capri.
Off in the distance, the islands of Ischia and Procida.
Below us are the houses of Capri
Descending the chairlift back to Anacapri
The Munthe house in Anacapri. The house and museum are uninspiring, but the gardens are especially beautiful.
At the Munthe house in Capri, this bench looks distinctly uncomfortable. Also having a wall tiled like a bathroom just seems... well, it's strange. Although the tiles are nice.
This bell was so fantastic that I had to take pictures of it. I suppose it was for calling to dinner, or even just a general call.
A little mosaic on a pillar shows the decorative motif of black and white can be pretty as well.
A picturesque view through the arches of the garden
Jan in the garden of the Munthe house.
The Marina Grande of Capri from the other side of the island. In the distance is Sorrento.
